Facelift
Rhytidectomy (which literally means surgical removal of wrinkles) or commonly a “facelift” is cosmetic surgery supposed to give the patient a more youthful appearance. The surgery involves the removal of excess facial skin and the tightening of the underlined tissues as well as redraping of the skin. An incision is made in front of the ear extending up into the hairline on the back of the neck. The skin is then separated from the deeper tissues and redraped with excess skin removed. Most successful facelifts are performed on woman with thin skin and good bone structure. Achieving a natural appearance following surgery in men can be more challenging due to their thicker bearded skin.
