Drug Rehabilitation
Drug rehabilitation or rehab is the term for the treatment (medical and/or psychotherapeutic) of dependencies on substances like alcohol, cocaine, heroin and amphetamines. Psychological dependency: This is addressed by attempting to teach the addict methods of interacting in drug free environments. To achieve this, the addict needs to examine and change habits that lead to the addiction. Medical treatment: Certain medications such as methadone and more recently buprenorphine are used for treatments of addictions to heroin and morphine. Anti depressants are also used in moderating some drug uses. |
