Computer virus
A computer virus is program code that can copy itself and infect a computer without the knowledge or permission of the user. The term virus is also incorrectly used to refer to malware and adware. Viruses can spread to other computers by infecting files on a network, via removable mediums such as floppy disks, cd’s or USB memory sticks or the internet. Some viruses are programmed to damage the computer by damaging programs or deleting files or even reformatting the hard disk. Viruses take up computer memory which can result in system crashes and data loss. There are many anti virus and firewall software programs available on the market that can cure and remove viruses on infected computers. Most personal computers today are connected to the internet and protecting your system against malicious code is more important than ever.
