Beading Supplies: Additional Misc Supplies Needed: Hemp - Hemp is often used to make macrame jewelry, especially chokers. Polymer Clay - You can make your own beads using polymer clay and bake them in the oven. Polymer clay is available in most craft stores in a wide range of colors. Containers - As your bead collection grows, you will need a system for organizing and storing your beads. It is helpful to choose one which is expandable and units that are transparent. These could include anything from plastic baggies to baby food jars. Bead Board - Used to lay out bead designs before stringing. They are usually felted to help the beads stay in place, and are available in a range of sizes. Glue - Bead cement or craft glue can be used to keep thread knots from unraveling. Use a pin or a toothpick to apply a small amount to seal a knot, being careful not to get glue on any beads. Lights - Good light is essential when making an item from beads. Normal desk lamps or similar products available in most Home stores should work fine as long as it is adjustable and provide good light.
